Jun Otsuka is Professor at the Faculty of Social Informatics of the ZEN University, Japan.
He primarily works in the philosophy of biology, statistics, machine learning, and causality, with a central focus on the problem of inductive reasoning. Induction sits at the intersection of science, mathematics, and philosophy, and he is fascinated by how this blend manifests in both theoretical frameworks and practical applications across scientific fields.
Jun Otsuka is a Visiting Fellow at CAS LMU from June to July 2026 upon invitation of Dr. Tom Sterkenburg (CAS Young Center/LMU) in the context of the CAS Research Focus “Bayesian Reasoning”.
